European Cybersecurity Competence Centre and Network

National Coordination Centres

There are 27 national centres included in the Network of National Coordination Centres (NCCs), exactly one from each Member State. Their mission is to boost research excellence and the competitiveness of the Union in the field of cybersecurity. The NCCs have common ground due to the many common challenges they face such as Digital Borders, Critical Infrastructure construction and maintenance, maintaining databases of the risks, threats, and vulnerabilities of the national/European critical infrastructure, and the mandate to boost research in this area. They serve to maintain and boost the level of cybersecurity for the European Union and are actively engaged in this mission.

The majority of NCCs have a Cybersecurity Strategy covering both prevention and response strategies. In addition, the majority of NCCs either provide or facilitate Education, Training and Practical Guides on Cybersecurity. News, Analysis and Guidance in relation to new and predicted threats can be found on the NCCs’ websites relating to cybersecurity threats and protective actions. In addition, in some cases, they also highlight some relevant services and service providers, either in their own country or the EU in general.
