Within MITA a dedicated NCC-MT team Information Security and Governance Department (ISGD) has been formed. Overall MITA is the public entity responsible for providing cybersecurity strategy, ICT infrastructure, systems, and services to the Government that leverage a modern digital ecosystem and contribute towards the definition and execution of the Government’s digital strategies that sustain a modern digital economy.

The approach adopted to develop the MITA National Cybersecurity Strategy involved the Public Administration, Private Sector, the Society, and the Cybersecurity community. Indeed, these stakeholders constitute the core of the Strategy’s overall vision that:

Malta is more secure and resilient to cyber threats, leading to more trust and confidence within the digital world.

The National Cybersecurity Steering Committee shall oversee the implementation of the National Cyber Security Strategy, ensure its currency, and be its national reference point. The strategy consists of four parts;

1. Cybersecurity Governance Capacity

2. Cyber Defence Capacity

3. Cyber Competence and Culture

4. International Cooperation
