Norwegian National Coordination Centre for cybersecurity – Norway

The Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM) will act as the National Coordination Centre for Cybersecurity for Norway, and thus be responsible for management and administration of the Norwegian NCC.

The Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM) will act as the National Coordination Centre for Cybersecurity for Norway, and thus be responsible for management and administration of the Norwegian NCC. The NSM is a cross-sectoral professional and supervisory authority within the protective security services in Norway, as well as the national professional environment for digital security in Norway.

The NSM will carry out this task in close collaboration with the Research Council of Norway (RCN). The RCN is a national strategic body for research, that manages research funding from all of the Norwegian ministries, and allocates funds to basic applied research and innovation within all fields and disciplines.

The RCN has a strategic responsibility for the sector. The RCN advise the authorities on research and research policy, and helps to ensure that research structures and policy tools are coherent. It aims to increase the quality of Norwegian Research, and is also responsible for research evaluations. The RCN creates venues where Norwegian researcher can meet, promotes collaboration between research communities and has a national responsibility for research-related communication.

NCC-NO will act as a contact point at the national level to support the European Cybersecurity Industrial and Research and Competence Centre´s (ECCC) mission and objectives. It will facilitate the participation of industry and other actors at the national level in cross-border projects and cybersecurity actions, assess entities in Norway to become part of the community, establish synergies with relevant activities at the national and regional level, identify and address sector-specific cybersecurity industrial challenges, implement specific actions, including financial support to national/local ecosystems, and promote and disseminate the outcomes of the work by the Network, Community and ECCC.
