SAP Joins the EU Cybersecurity Skills Academy

In January 2024, SAP joined the Cybersecurity Skills Academy, the European Union’s initiative to create a governance framework around cyber skills, focusing on training and capacity building.

SAP joins cybersecurity skills academy

The Academy’s mission is to bring all the stakeholders together to work towards a common objective – to bridge the talent gap within the sector. As a leader in the software space, SAP understands the importance of cybersecurity and need for trained security professionals. SAP’s investments are reflected in its relationship with HBCUs, or historically black colleges and universities, offering internships as part of official corporate programs, and SAP’s Global Security Early Talent Program, which has beenrecently recognized by the Biden-Harris administration in the National Cybersecurity Workforce and Education Strategy (NCWES).

SAP is particularly supportive of the measures called out for action within the Cybersecurity Skills Academy, including cyber pledges, which is why it is committed to contribute.

The pledge undertaken by SAP Chief Trust Office consists of a two-part online course intended to introduce learners to cybersecurity fundamentals. The course is open to everyone and especially meant for learners with little to no experience in cybersecurity. It introduces the concept of cybersecurity, its importance and purpose, the different teams that may exist in an organization and what skills and schooling may be necessary to enter or transfer into the field. The course will remain open until 31 December 2027. It is available under the following link: https://learning.sap.com/learning-journeys/introducing-the-field-of-cybersecurity

SAP’s pledge within the Cybersecurity Skill Academy further confirms the company’s commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning, transparency, and innovation.
