In addition to being a meeting place, the centre will facilitate increased collaboration between different fields of study at national and international level. During the autumn 2024, NCC-NO will announce funding for research, development and innovation in cybersecurity. The centre will also support businesses that work with cyber security.

Present at the opening were over 100 invited guests who listened to the opening speeches from the Norwegian Digitization Minister - Karianne Tung, interim director of Norwegian National Security Authority - Lars Christian Aamodt, Lars Strand who heads NCC-NO and Lasse Gullvåg Sætre from the Norwegian Research Council.

NCC-NO will act as a contact point at the national level to support the ECCC's mission and objectives. It will facilitate the participation of industry and other actors at the national level in cross-border projects and cybersecurity actions, assess entities in Norway to become part of the community, establish synergies with relevant activities at the national and regional level, identify and address sector-specific cybersecurity industrial challenges, implement specific actions, including financial support to national/local ecosystems, and promote and disseminate the outcomes of the work by the Network, Community and ECCC.
