BRUSSELS, 12 October 2023 – The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) is pleased to announce its newest initiative: a series of Knowledge-Sharing Events. In its commitment to fostering a strong and collaborative European cybersecurity community, the ECCC launches a series of open and inclusive events aimed at providing a platform for key stakeholders, including EU institutions, agencies, National Coordination Centres (NCCs), public authorities, and private actors to share knowledge, insights, and best practices to address critical cybersecurity topics for Europe. The inaugural event, organised in cooperation with the Belgian National Coordination Centre (NCC-BE), is set to focus on cybersecurity awareness, taking place in a hybrid format on 8 November 2023 in Brussels.

The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) continues to uphold its commitment to work alongside the Network of National Coordination Centres (NCCs) in the quest to build a strong European cybersecurity community. In an era marked by persistent digital threats, the ECCC and NCCs assume a proactive role in fortifying Europe’s collective cyber resilience by nurturing close relationships between European stakeholders. The ECCC recognises the need for a deeper understanding of critical cybersecurity topics for Europe and has launched a new initiative consisting of a series of Knowledge-Sharing Events, powered by the European Cybersecurity Community (ECCO) project, with the aim to foster an exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best practices between European stakeholders.

This initiative promotes inclusivity of all cybersecurity sectors in Europe and brings together key stakeholders, including EU institutions, agencies, National Coordination Centres (NCCs), public authorities, and industry leaders. The events are designed to provide a platform for actors to convene and exchange competences to address a wide range of relevant cybersecurity challenges for Europe. The challenges are set by the ECCC Strategic Agenda, which defines the priority areas for the development and growth of the European cybersecurity industrial, technological and research sector.

The inaugural Knowledge-Sharing Event, scheduled for 8 November 2023 in cooperation with the Belgian National Coordination Centre (NCC-BE), sets the tone for the initiative by providing presentations, case-studies, roundtable discussions on the topic of “cybersecurity awareness” across Europe. After opening remarks by the ECCC and NCC-BE, the event will feature presentations from NCCs on ongoing awareness initiatives at national level and insightful discussions on awareness in Europe.

The ECCC’s new initiative of knowledge-sharing events is designed with a clear purpose - to foster collaboration and coordination among all NCC’s and European cybersecurity stakeholders from all sectors with the goal to align efforts and strategies, ultimately enhancing Europe's cybersecurity posture. Through these events, the ECCC will enable stakeholders to network, build relationships, share expertise and collectively strengthen Europe’s resilience and the European cybersecurity community as a whole.
