The ECCC launched a knowledge-sharing webinar series throughout April 2024

In April, the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) effectively utilised ECCO's resources within its European Community Groups to host four insightful webinars.

Throughout the month of March, the ECCC has effectively utilised the resources and expertise within the European Cyber COmmunity project (ECCO), leveraging its community groups to host six insightful knowledge-sharing webinars.

In April, the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) effectively utilised ECCO's resources within its European Community Groups to host four insightful webinars. Covering technical topics like Digital Twins and their architectures, along with broader subjects such as the European cybersecurity market and space cybersecurity funding, these sessions strengthened collaboration and built a European cybersecurity community, ultimately advancing understanding within Europe of the cybersecurity domain.

The ECCC has leveraged on the resources and collaborative spirit of the European Cyber Security Community (ECCO) and its diverse Community Groups spanning various sectors of cybersecurity. This collaboration resulted in a series of four engaging knowledge-sharing webinars throughout the month of April.

The six ECCO Community Groups, including the ones on skills development, support for start-ups, scale-ups, and SMEs, human factors in cybersecurity, synergies between civilian and space applications, cybersecurity road-mapping, and fostering trust within supply chains, meticulously organised the webinars with the aim of involving National Cybersecurity Centres (NCCs) and engaging the wider European cybersecurity community in capacity-building dialogues. The overarching objective was to disseminate knowledge and expertise on pivotal cybersecurity subjects pertinent to Europe, aligning with the strategic agenda outlined by the ECCC. In the subsequent sections, we will provide a comprehensive overview of each webinar conducted and furnish the presentation slides for participants' reference.

Building Youth Communities for Cybersecurity through Competitions, 12 April 2024

The webinar, provided insights into engaging young people in cybersecurity. Strategies for involving youth in cybersecurity competitions, fostering community-building, and highlighting educational and career pathways were discussed. Furthermore, efforts to include girls in IT and cybersecurity, particularly in Estonia, were examined, along with the challenges and the integration of gamified interventions. Lastly, the AustriaCyberSecurityChallenge (ACSC) was also explored, emphasising its important role in talent development and education and its significant impact on Austria's security ecosystem.

Digital Twins architectures and security capabilities: a Game-Changer for Cybersecurity, 26 April 2024

The recent knowledge sharing session, led by the ECCO Community Group on Road-Mapping, delved into Digital Twins (DTs), a cutting-edge technology that has revolutionised business models worldwide by offering unprecedented simulation and prediction capabilities tailored to every scenario and application context.

In light of this technological innovation and its potential for multiple use cases, the webinar explored the untapped potential of DTs beyond their conventional use. Two key areas of interest were discussed: harnessing the power of DTs for the protection of critical systems and navigating the challenges of deploying this technology from a secure standpoint. Throughout the discussion, the NIST cybersecurity framework was widely considered as the guide, mapping out the necessary security measures and demonstrating how DTs can be utilised for protection purposes. Furthermore, the webinar introduced the technological concept of Digital Twins and showcased its application in exciting use cases. The session concluded by examining future challenges in deploying and maximising the benefits of Digital Twins.
