ECCC Info Day 22 February 2024

The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) is kicking off the year with an Info Day Event on 22 February in Bucharest. This event is part of a series that will provide crucial details about upcoming calls from the Digital Europe Programme, promoting awareness of cyber calls across Europe. In December, the European Commission released new calls for proposals, allocating a significant budget to six areas, including AI applications and the transition of European public administrations to post-quantum cryptography.

The Info Day in Bucharest, powered by project ECCO (European Cybersecurity COmmunity), is designed to facilitate the sharing of information on European cyber calls and funding opportunities, raise awareness on present and future calls involving relevant stakeholders and NCCs, and provide an opportunity for the general public to engage with representatives of the official bodies issuing these funding opportunities during presentations of the work programme and in networking sessions.

As the allocation of the cyber funds provided by the Digital Europe and Horizon Europe Programmes is managed by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre, the Info Days initiative will entail public informative disseminations regarding the structure of the Cybersecurity Calls. Through the fostering of this knowledge, the ECCC upholds its commitment to the mission of building a stronger and more interconnected European cybersecurity community. Attendance to the Info Days initiative is crucial in order to gain factual knowledge related the application process for the open calls.

A budget of EUR 84 million has been tailored by the European Commission under the Digital Europe Programme for the deployment of activities that support newly discovered application of AI and other enabling technologies for Security Operation Centres, the implementation of EU cybersecurity legislation, and the European transition to post-quantum cryptography.

During the Info Days there will be a chance of dwelling into the topics of the areas of action that are listed below:

  • DIGITAL-ECCC-2024-DEPLOY-CYBER-06-ENABLINGTECH - Novel applications of AI and Other Enabling Technologies for Security Operation Centres (EUR 30 million)
  • DIGITAL-ECCC-2024-DEPLOY-CYBER-06-STRENGTHENCRA - Strengthening cybersecurity capacities of European SMEs in line with CRA requirements and obligations (EUR 22 million)
  • DIGITAL-ECCC-2024-DEPLOY-CYBER-06-SEC-CRATOOLS - Tools for compliance with CRA requirements and obligations (EUR 8 million)
  • DIGITAL-ECCC-2024-DEPLOY-CYBER-06-PQCINDUSTRY - Deployment of Post Quantum Cryptography in systems in industrial sectors (EUR 22.25 million)
  • DIGITAL-ECCC-2024-DEPLOY-CYBER-06-PQCSTANDARD - Standardisation and awareness of the European transition to post-quantum cryptography (EUR 1 million)
  • DIGITAL-ECCC-2024-DEPLOY-CYBER-06-PQCTRANS - Roadmap for the transition of European public administrations to a post-quantum cryptography era (EUR 750k)

Participants will also have the chance to pitch their project ideas for funding opportunities during the event. Pitching decks will be accepted until 18 January COB.
