Round Table on Hybrid Threats to Democracies, 23-25 January, Bucharest, Romania

The ‘Round Table on Hybrid Threats to Democracies’ organised by the Hanns-Seidel Foundation will take place in Bucharest from 23-25 January 2024.

This roundtable is meant to bring together experts from private business, academics, think tanks, media, politics, and with different backgrounds. The aim is to continue the conversation among European experts on a range of subjects related to Hybrid threats.

As these issues are ever more pertinent, the HSF considers that organising-off-the-record meeting is crucial to sustain open and genuine dialogue under the current sensitivities.

The invited experts will discuss hybrid threats to democracies on three thematic panels:

  1. Technical threats and infrastructure: Experts will provide insights into technical aspects of hybrid threats and infrastructure.

  1. Content manipulation and public perception of hybrid threats: Experts will share their expertise on content manipulation, as well as their thoughts on the perception of hybrid threats by the public.

  1. Awareness raising, economic cooperation, and ways forward: Experts will provide insights into education / awareness-raising, academic and economic cooperation on an international level, and reflect on possible solutions.
