On 9 October 2023 from 14:00 to 16:00, a session dedicated to exploring the cybersecurity skills gap will be organised as part of the CONNECT University Autumn School series.
The people of the EU are the Union’s most important resource, essential to ensuring its security, growth and competitiveness. To be able to not only prevent and defend the EU but also continue to offer new and innovative technologies, the EU needs a skilled cybersecurity workforce. At the same time, however, there is a prominent shortage of cybersecurity professionals. Employers lack common forums to discuss how to properly train and evaluate employees’ abilities, particularly during the hiring process.
This session aims to tackle the problem of the cybersecurity talent gap by discussing how employers can ensure their employees have the necessary skills and how appropriate recruitment, development and retention strategies can be implemented. Featuring a panel discussion with representatives from Leonardo, Workday, INCIBE, and DIGIT, attendees will learn how industry, a national and an EU public administration are addressing the HR gap that is affecting cybersecurity professions at the moment.
