On 20 May 2025, a meeting took place in Brno between representatives of the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB) and the Slovak Cyber Security Competence and Certification Centre (KCCKB) and the National Security Authority (NBÚ). The main objectives of the meeting were to strengthen mutual cooperation and to formalise it through the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between NÚKIB and KCCKB, which serve as the National Coordination Centres (NCCs) in their respective countries under EU Regulation 2021/887.

The signing of the memorandum of cooperation between NÚKIB and KCCKB formally confirms their longstanding collaboration and establishes a framework for its further development. Its aim is to strengthen the coordination of both NCCs' activities, link national expert communities, and support more intensive cooperation in the implementation of projects funded by the Digital Europe Programme (DEP). The memorandum supports closer coordination, regular consultations, knowledge sharing, and joint activities in the field of cybersecurity. It also creates space for coordination of activities in relation to the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC), submission of joint projects, harmonisation of approaches to the implementation of EU legislation, and the organisation of events focused on raising cybersecurity awareness.

The meeting also addressed cooperation within the TEST-CERT-CZ and TestCert-SK projects, which aim to build testing and certification capacities in the field of cybersecurity in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Both parties focused on harmonising approaches and sharing practical experience.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss current challenges and opportunities related to the activities of the NCCs. Participants shared their insights from the implementation of EU projects and confirmed their mutual interest in continuing and deepening cooperation with the aim of contributing to strengthening the resilience and security of the digital space in Europe.
