ECCC Governing Board and the Network of National Coordination Centres met in León, Spain

On 15-16 October, the ECCC Governing Board held its 14th meeting in León, following the NCC Network Day of the National Coordination Centres (NCCs), dedicated to advancing Europe’s cybersecurity cooperation and strategic direction.

Discussions focused on topics such as the implementation of the Digital Europe Programme (DEP) and Horizon Europe (HE), ECCC activities and funded projects including on establishing Cross-border Security Operations Centres / Cyber hubs. 

A forward-looking discussion explored the ECCC’s role under the upcoming Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF 2028–2035) and the European Competitiveness Fund, reinforcing the goal of strengthening European capabilities in cybersecurity.

The delegates also received insights into Moldova’s cybersecurity landscape from Mihai Lupascu, Director of the Agency for Cybersecurity of Moldova, and underscored the importance of shared learning and coordination. The Board expressed its support for Moldova and commitment to continuing the dialogue. 

Both gatherings also highlighted the value of knowledge exchange within the cybersecurity community and discussed developments related to the upcoming Atlas platform, which aims to map, categorise, and stimulate collaboration among European cybersecurity experts. They also touched upon the Centre’s support for future editions of the European Cybersecurity Challenge (ECSC).

By bringing together decision-makers and practitioners from across the Union, both meetings reinforced the spirit of collaboration, shared responsibility, and forward-looking governance that define Europe’s cybersecurity efforts.
