The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) has launched its new Access-2-Market initiative by organising the inaugural event in Katowice, Poland, on 22 June 2023. Focusing on two of the hottest topics in the field today, “Identity & Access Management” and “Risk Management & Risk Assessment”, the buzzing event featured not only pioneering presentations by eleven European providers and astute panel discussions among experts, but also plenty of networking between actors from both the supply and demand sides of the industry as well as a dedicated Jury’s selection of the two providers with the most convincing pitches.
As part of the ECCC’s ongoing efforts to build a strong European cybersecurity community and strengthen the European cybersecurity market, this new initiative, powered by the European Cybersecurity COmmunity (ECCO) project, aims to address the difficulties that cybersecurity solution providers face with accessing the market. By bringing market players to the same venue, Access-2-Market events serve to grant European cybersecurity companies the much-needed opportunities to meet potential business partners without unnecessary obstacles.
The Polish Access-2-Market event was organised in collaboration with the Polish National Coordination Centre (NCC-PL), CYBERSEC Forum/Expo 2023, the Kosciuszko Institute and the #CyberMadeInPoland cluster. At this inaugural event, European cybersecurity suppliers were able to network with- and showcase their products and services in front of potential buyers. After introductory remarks by Katarzyna Nowak (Head of Unit at NCC-PL), the following European cybersecurity providers pitched their visionary solutions to the audience:
The dedicated Jury, featuring, the industry experts Adam Danieluk (Chief Security Officer, CliniNote), Jakub Teska (Director of Cybersecurity Architecture and Services Bureau, PKO Bank Polski), Jarosław Sordyl (Vice President, CISO #Poland), and Andrzej Bartosiewicz (CEO at CISO #Poland, CISO at Zakłady Automatyki KOMBUD SA, and VP Executive at CISO4U), then took on the task of evaluating all the above-mentioned companies’ presentations. After thorough consideration, the Jury decided on the two most compelling pitches of the day: CDeX and Secfense.
Mateusz Baldys, Business Development Manager at CDeX, shared his thoughts with the ECCC: “At CDeX, we contribute to creating a safer world by supporting organisations in developing and recruiting the best cybersecurity experts. Our Cyber Range is an advanced training environment designed to simulate realistic cyber-attack scenarios. It is a platform that enables practical exercises and skill enhancement in the field of cybersecurity. Through CDeX training, organisations can check and improve their cyber workforce readiness, close the competence gap and train as they fight with hackers.”
It is a great honour for the ECCC to provide a venue for such important companies to gain recognition in the eyes of market participants. Congratulations to both CDeX and Secfense for giving such convincing presentations!
Besides the outstanding networking opportunities, the event included a panel discussion aimed at exchanging information and ideas on the opportunities and challenges faced by cyber companies. The invited experts Anna Kolenda-Parakiel (Product Manager, NACVIEW), Antoni Omondi (CEO & Co-Founder, Sagenso), Dariusz Jędryczek (Board Advisor for Cybersecurity, Smartech IT), Katarzyna Dzidt (Chief Marketing Officer, Cryptomage), and Patryk Brozek (CEO & Co-Founder, Fudo Security), as well as moderator Andrzej Bartosiewicz, took the stage to dig deep into the topic, sharing their extensive experience and insights along the way.
In sum, the first Access-2-Market event was the ideal way to kick off the ECCC’s new initiative seeking to address the disparity between demand and supply in the European cybersecurity market. Through meaningful dialogues, networking, and pitches of the newest tools available on the market, the event served as the much-needed platform for European companies to network with other market players, foster new connections, and increase their visibility and recognition among potential customers, ultimately strengthening the European cybersecurity market as a whole.
