Belgian Anti Phishing Shield

The Belgian Anti-Phishing Shield (BAPS) is a Centre for Cyber Security Belgium (CCB) initiative. This is a system that warns the Internet user in the event of browsing on fraudulent or malicious websites.

BAPS redirects the Internet user to a warning page when browsing these sites. The action is taken at the Belgian DNS level. This is done after a thorough analysis of the site by the CCB.

Each time a user clicks on a link, a DNS request is sent to the Internet Service Provider (ISP). Using BAPS protection, the ISP's DNS server compares the website the user is trying to access with a list of malicious websites. If the requested website is on this list, the ISP's DNS server redirects the user to a warning page.

Belgian Anti Phishing Shield

Le Belgium Anti-Phishing Shield (BAPS) est une initiative du Centre pour la Cybersécurité Belgique. Il s’agit d’un système qui avertit l'internaute en cas de navigation sur des sites frauduleux ou malveillants.

BAPS permet de rediriger l'internaute vers une page d'avertissement en cas de navigation sur ces sites. L'action est prise au niveau de DNS belge. Cela se fait après une analyse approfondie du site par le CCB.

À chaque fois qu'un utilisateur clique sur un lien, une demande DNS est envoyée au fournisseur d’accès à Internet (FAI). Grâce à la protection BAPS, le serveur DNS du FAI compare le site web auquel l'utilisateur tente d'accéder avec une liste de sites web malveillants. Si le site Internet demandé figure sur cette liste, le serveur DNS du FAI redirige l'utilisateur vers une page d'avertissement.
